At B2THEWORLD, we come alongside teachers and school leaders through ongoing training and support. Using the Why. Play. Lead. framework, educators gain practical tools, leadership development, and encouragement to serve their students well.

Our support doesn’t end after training. We continue walking with educators as they bring learning to life in their classrooms and communities, helping them grow as teachers, leaders, and agents of hope.

    Cameroon

    Cameroon has faced prolonged instability, particularly in the Anglophone regions, disrupting learning, weakening educational outcomes, and straining already fragile school systems. B2THEWORLD partners with six schools serving students to strengthen institutional capacity and advance high-quality, Christ-centered education.

    Pakistan

    Pakistan remains one of the largest crisis-affected countries globally, where conflict, displacement, gender disparities, and resource shortfalls contribute to millions of children lacking consistent access to inclusive, quality education. Additionally, it’s home to marginalized Christians who live in bonded labor. B2THEWORLD’s partnership with eight schools serving students strengthens instructional quality, leadership, and learning systems in this context, giving students stability and opportunity in environments where education is often disrupted.

    Rwanda

    B2THEWORLD partners with Kigali International Community School (KICS). In many ways KICS was the inspiration for B2THEWORLD as our cofounders served this community for ten years. It was at KICS where practices of a pedagogical approach of Why, a schoolwide focus on Play, and a commitment to develop students into leaders who will renew, rebuild and restore their communitieswas born. Today KICS is a thriving school and a gold standard for schools worldwide.

Lessons from Kigali: How KICS Helped Shape B2THEWORLD’s Vision for Transformational Education

Rwanda has endured a painful history marked by war through the 1994 Genocide Against the Tutsi. Through intentional efforts toward restoration, reconciliation, and healing, the nation has made remarkable progress. Within this context of renewal, Kigali International Community School (KICS) was established, committed to shaping students through academic excellence, spiritual formation, and leadership grounded in service.

KICS began its partnership with B2THEWORLD in 2018, united by a shared vision for transformational education rooted in faithful presence, human flourishing, and spiritual formation.


The Shaping of our Framework

Benjamin Thomas, current CEO and Co-Founder of B2THEWORLD, served as Head of School at KICS for ten years. During that time, the school leaned deeply into what would become the Why–Play–Lead™ educational framework, an approach centered on a pedagogical approach that was student and critical thinking centered (Why), joyful formation and belonging (Play), and servant leadership (Lead).

KICS became a living laboratory for what transformational education could look like in a post-conflict nation.

Several lessons emerged:

  • Excellence and formation are not opposites. They reinforce each other.

  • Faithful presence in a nation recovering from trauma requires long-term commitment, not short-term intervention.

  • Schools can become anchors of trust and dignity within a community.

Under this leadership, KICS emerged as one of the leading schools in Rwanda. All graduates matriculated to universities, including U.S. Ivy League and other top global institutions. Just as importantly, the school earned deep trust within the local community, so much so that government officials entrusted KICS with their own children’s education.

KICS demonstrated that transformational education could be academically rigorous, spiritually grounded, and deeply contextual at the same time. These lessons did not stay at KICS. They became foundational to B2THEWORLD.


From Local Experience to Global Commitment

Through its experience at KICS, B2THEWORLD clarified several convictions that now guide its partnerships globally:

  • Children are at the center of our work.

  • War devastates not only infrastructure, but identity, opportunity, and hope.

  • Education is one of the most powerful pathways to healing, resilience, and human flourishing.

  • Sustainable impact requires walking alongside local leadership with integrity and dignity.

Rather than positioning itself as a rescuer, B2THEWORLD commits to long-term partnership, supporting schools in strengthening systems, clarifying vision, and building toward sustainability. KICS helped define that posture.

What KICS Continues to Model

Today, KICS continues to reflect many of the principles that shape B2THEWORLD’s broader mission:

  • Expanding Educational Vision - Strategic planning and campus development efforts reflect a commitment to long-term sustainability and excellence.

  • Serving a Global Community - With students representing more than 30 nationalities, KICS fosters cross-cultural understanding rooted in Christian values.

  • Holistic Student Formation - Students experience rigorous academics alongside spiritual formation, leadership development, and service-oriented learning.

  • Future-Oriented Growth - Land acquisition and campus planning lay the foundation for expanded access and continued community impact.

Graduates are prepared not only for higher education around the world, but for lives that embody Why–Play–Lead™, lives marked by purpose, service, and leadership.

B2THEWORLD’s commitment to faithful presence, human flourishing, and sustainable partnership was refined in Rwanda, through real students, real classrooms, real families, real challenges, and real growth.
